Green Smoothie Bowl Recipe for Weight Loss and More!

A vibrant green smoothie bowl, for that perfect start to your day. The sweetness of bananas is perfectly balanced with the spinach. Some of you might cringe, hearing the word ‘spinach’, but trust me, you wouldn’t even know it is there. It is a great sneaky way to include spinach in your diet (by the way, spinach gives you superpowers, I think Popeye was really onto something). For vegans, a nut or plant-based milk is recommended, otherwise any other type will do. Avocado gives this recipe a rich texture, plus it is a super food just like spinach. If you don’t have avocado available, cream tofu can do the trick. This smoothie bowl is packed with proteins, fiber and vitamins to keep you feeling full and energized the entire day. It is so delicious, you will keep coming back for more.

2 cups (60 g) fresh spinach

1 frozen banana

1 cup (250 mL) plant-based milk (preferred) / yogurt

1 cup oats

1 cup avocado / tofu

1 tbsp peanut butter

Sprinkle of cinnamon powder (Optional)

Optional toppings:

Dark chocolate

Spoonful of peanut butter (This will make a difference)

Assorted seed mix having flax seeds, chia seeds or pumpkin seeds

Fresh fruit like mango, strawberries, banana or kiwi

Grated coconut

Muesli (For that added crunch)


1) Combine all ingredients in a high-speed blender and blend on high until smooth.

2) Pour into bowls and top with desired toppings.
